Surprise! Two posts in one day. Alright time to get serious about a problem that a lot of people including me have to go through.Anxiety. Anxiety is defined as a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. I just get really nervous around people I don't know, new places, and new things. But nothing gets to me worse than having to talk or present in front of someone or people I'm not comfortable with. Like I worry about every single scenario, in which case, things always go awry. In my head, there is never a good outcome. Just thinking about the presentation I had to give this morning in English is putting all of these thoughts in my head. What did they think of it? Are they judging me right now? What if they hated it? Omgosh they're gonna tell their friends and I'm going to be laughed at! See what I mean. This happens every single time. I over think everything and worry about what, to everyone else, is nothing, but to me that's it I'm done for. And to be honest, everyone has probably already forgotten about the presentation and will never think of it again.
Hi! lovelies. Just wanted to let you guys know that we will be filming over fall break next week. And our upload day is going to be Friday due to popular vote on my poll. Our goal is two videos, but if we only get one then we'll be satisfied. Alright see you soon. Bye!
Yup. You read it here first. We're going to be putting out product soon. I don't know much of what is going to be in the video or when we will post it. And that's where you guys come into play. So for the first video we'll be doing an introduction/get to know us kind of thing. So what you guys have to do is very simple. Comment questions for us down below to answer in our first video. Also we don't know what day to upload. So below is a poll that I would really appreciate if you took the time to pick a day for us. Thank you. It's been a pretty uneventful week. So I have nothing to tell you. So why not talk about one of my favorite subjects. Boys. Before I go on I'd just like to say that if you see something similar on my better half's blog, that I had the idea first. She's a big copycat. Anywhosies. Boys are mysterious creatures that I just can't function properly around. Especially the tall, attractive ones. Except for Jacob. Jacob is my best friend and does not count. I mean like sometimes Emily and I can't handle it. But we have to talk about it. How can you not? So, to avoid awkward situations, we have come up with nicknames for particular boys. Such as Alpha, Beta, and Tall Blonde&Gorgeous. That's normal. Right? Please tell me we're not the only ones who do it. I know there's at least one other person who does this.
If I'm gonna be honest, brown eyes and a nice smile are what really draw me in. Cough Cough Beta Cough Cough. That's really all for this week. Until next time my friends. I'm such a bad youtuber/blogger. I mean it's been six weeks and we haven't put out a single video. And my blogs are probably boring you to a coma that you will hopefully wake up from soon. So I apologize dearly for the wait. We really need to get things together and record something. Anything! And I also want to apologize for not posting last week. I was working on an extra long blog and it took forever, but now it's posted. And I was hoping that two blogs in one day would hopefully make up for half of it. And as for the video, I'm sure that we'll come up with something soon. Hopefully. Thank you so much for sticking out the wait with us. I promise we'll get something uploaded. Love you guys.
For this week's blog I had to interview an "expert" on the project I'm doing. I mentally spazzed out! How was I supposed to find a fellow youtuber in my small town?!? So I went off the topic of youtube to editing and lighting. Both topics I knew nothing about. And thus the person popped in my head. I stumbled upon my interviewee in our school's choir room. Mr.Griffith not only helps run the school's music department, but he also helps people with presentations and has a tech class. He does numerous projects that involve editing audio and fixing light settings, so that everything is perfect. So I asked him and he said yes.
Mr.Griffith or G, as he is mostly referred as, is a thirty something choir director. He went ISU and has been teaching music for 16 years. Mr.Griffith enjoys editing and has been doing this for 15-16 years. He also works on lighting and has been doing so for 22 years. He doesn't do it professionally so he didn't require any education. But he informed that someone looking into editing as a career would require at least a bachelor's degree. Over my time spent with him, I have learned that he is very detail oriented, and a bit of a perfectionist. Like in most things, the little details count. Recordings also have to be clean. If even one sound is off then the whole thing is ruined. He told me that he was recording madrigal songs in a room in the courthouse and after all that work they had to start all over. Why you ask? Well just below them was the basement and in that particular basement was a soda pop machine. They didn't hear anything, but the mic picked up everything. And thus they had to start all over. Moral of the story? Don't record by pop machines. A trait key to editing is patience. He literally stays up for 12 hours on just one cd. I hope you had a good social life because it won't exist after this. For you beginners like me, pay attention now because this is the most important part of editing. Are you ready for this? You sure? Okay. Here it is. Putting out a good product and making sure everything is perfect. Boom. I just blew all of your minds. Headphones. These are a must have when editing. Make sure you have a really good pair of headphones and be a good listener or else. Magic Mix is an editing app that the legend, Mr.Griffith, himself uses. Being that he edits quite frequently in his line of work, editing is a necessity, but in his opinion, schools should not have editing classes. His information really helped me out and I am very grateful for it. I will definitely be using this when I edit my videos. Yesterday I watched a video in health class that really opened up my eyes. It was about teen suicide. Two people went through a hard time to the point where they didn't care what happened to them. With the right help from his friend and teacher, the boy didn't go through with his plans and is happily married with a daughter today. The girl wasn't as lucky and didn't have as good of a friend as him. She is no longer with us. It made me realize that not everyone is lucky enough to have someone that is supportive and they can talk to without fear of judgement. And they don't always have a safe way to release their emotions. Maybe if she had had something to make her laugh or at least smile, she wouldn't have gone through with it. That's why I'm doing what I'm doing. Sure this has always been my dream, but that's only part of it. I want people to see my videos and smile. I want my videos to motivate them to not only help themselves, but to help others as well. After reading this, I hope it opened up your eyes as well. Don't take anything for granted. Appreciate what you have because the person next to may not have that.
Guess what?! We finally came up with a name for our channel! I can't believe it's really happening. You wouldn't believe how many times we came up with a name we were happy with, and someone else already had it. Now you're probably wondering what the name is. Well I won't keep you waiting anymore. The name of our channel is...*insert drum roll here* Our Awkward Reality! Why this name you ask? Well it pretty much sums Emily and I to a T. We even made our channel on Youtube. We don't have any videos uploaded yet, but go ahead and subscribe to see when we do. My dream is finally becoming a reality and I can't wait to share it with you.<3
We've been thinking about what to name our channel for weeks now and we've come up with... Nothing. Now I know what your thinking. Weeks?! Shouldn't they have figured out something by now? It can't be that hard to come up with a simple name. Well that's where you're wrong. First of all, you have to have an idea for a name. We had plenty but they were all vetoed by me or Emily. Second, if you can come up with an idea then you have to make sure that no one else has that name. We'll look into that when we figure out some good ideas. There's probably supposed to be a third thing, but I've got nothing. But don't worry. We'll come up with something and I'll let you know the Friday we do.
At first my mom wasn't okay with me putting videos of myself on Youtube, but after sitting her down and discussing everything, she was convinced. One hurdle down. A lot more to go. We haven't even come up with a name for a channel. Without that, we can't do anything and we won't get any recognition. We don't know how to edit videos, so our quality will be low and it'll take forever to upload our videos. We most likely won't get our videos out on the time we promised, due to school and after school activities. I could go on and on, but I'll save you the torture.
